About Us
Carl Gay and his wife, Marie, started selling cars
more than 51 years ago in Houston, Texas. The car, truck and SUV
dealership's first location was in Dickinson on Highway 3, which
at that time was the major route between Houston and Galveston.
Eighteen years later, after giving the much larger dealers in
Houston a run for their money, Gay pontiac relocated. In 1965
Gay Pontiac Buick GMC opened what was to be the first car dealership
in Houston on the Gulf Freeway. Along with the move came the much
needed lot space that made Gay Pontiac one of the largest Pontiac
dealers in the nation.
Over the years many dealers have grown
and expanded to multiple car dealership locations. Gay Pontiac Buick
& GMC has indeed grown, but Carl Gay felt that by expanding
he would lose touch with the customer. That's why whenever you come
to Gay Pontiac Buick & GMC there is always someone from the
Gay family to talk with you.
Carl Gay was the innovator of the
one price selling concept. For the last half century, three hundred
and sixty-five days a year, Gay Pontiac Buick & GMC has put
the low discount price on the windshield of every vehicle in in
stock.
Eighty percent of our business is
repeat business and referred customers. Carl was quick to point
out that the dedication and longevity of his employees and his wife,
Marie, is the major factor in the half a century of his success
in the automobile business.
Pontiac's most prestigious award is the "Master"
Dealer award. Gay Pontiac is one of only five dealers in the nation
to receive this award 25 years straight.
